I'm making a game

Decided that I am going to make an online browser game.

It would be a time based RPG sort of game. Where you set yourself up as a character within a predefined tribe which you can select from, each tribe has different attributes.

As well as being in the tribe you can increase your attributes by training, fighting etc. You can also upgrade your equipment to improve your attributes too.

Only problem is I don't know what era to set it in. Do I go medievil or modern or futuristic or alien?

Anyone who can do good small drawings would be good too. Hopefully try and get some revenue from it.

Umm the tribes could be like the romans,spartans and Barbarians?

Could be, but that would require research.

Going to implement an internal clan system too so whole clans assuming they are in the same tribe can fight each other.

Sounds cool, why not using something like RPG maker? It has loads of samples and a complete battle system. You can make your own add-ons with ruby script.
(made a game myself years ago, never finished it, coz I just hadn't enough time to work on it )

It will be browser based. I believe RPG maker creates executables to run on clients?

why not make it about sewage workers and tribes of rats plotting against them.... you could include some sort of points for poo system....

sewage workers could include sneak warfarin/rentokill attacks and stuff
