Red Faction: Armageddon

Post by skeletor »

Red Faction has another game coming out soon, back in the mines again but with aliens.

I loved the original with all the geo modding but haven't really played #3 since I got it on the Xbox 360, just a matter of blowing everything up.

I played the first one, heard the second was shit so didnt bother and ahvent even looked at the 3rd. I got really close to the end of first one and I had a cracked version that bugged out so I never did finish it.
I can remember loading up the glass house level though and just shooting glass and thinking how brilliant it was. For about an hour non stop

Yep, I did the glass house too. Enable cheats, put on God mode, full weapons and ammo. You the big rocket launcher and make a tunnel from one side, under the glass house and back round the other side.

There was actually a limit to the amount of geo-modding you could do, you get to a certain point where no more rock will crumble away.

Second one wasn't too bad but pressured you in to using geo-modding. The first one you could do most of them by playing as a normal shooter but use geo-modding to your advantage, but the second one was like "Shoot the explosive barrels by the towers to continue" which I didn't like. Although it did have a really good sniper rifle which had an electronic scope which was sort of like heat sensor showing you where they were behind walls etc.

3rd one is really repetitive, these people are kidnapped, rescue them, oh how do I rescue them by myself, "blow up the building with these mines and rocket launcher".

Maybe I'm just getting old but a lot of games seem to be boring me these days. I can't wait to get into the bioshock games properly from start to finish because they kind of intrigue me, but a lot of the shooters just don't. For instance I still haven't finished the original F.E.A.R. and only played half an hour or so of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. before getting very bored. Oh well, on the plus side I'm actually genuinely looking forward to playing some CS and quite looking forward to booting borderlands back up.
I guess I'll always end up sat back in front of a monitor in my swivel chair. One way or another

I haven't done F.E.A.R either, started playing the second but can't get in to that either. STALKER, I got bored with, area was too big. You had to travel across the map to pick up one thing to walk back to the start only to have to walk back again to pick up another item.

I am actually enjoying Borderlands now. Virtually everyone is friendly on it as all the cunts have moved on to CoD MW2. I think I may start up a new character. My main character has some immense weapons now.
