Alright man, sounds good. But let's not leave it too long because I should be getting my medical forms done for army application by end of next week. Once that's done god knows how fast things will move. It could take months, it could be weeks.

Plus March is good because the Euro is shit right now do I'll get a much better exchange rate lol

You're joining the army?

My brothers girlfriends brother just lost both his legs in Afghanistan from a mine.

We won't be in Afghanistan by time I would tour there. Besides, its unlikely that would happen to me given the trade I would be doing so its all good.

I might die I a car crash tomorrow so fuck it.

I thought you were taking the piss until I re read in and realised your brothers girlfriends brother is in fact not exactly "distant".
All the best to him anyway, mines are the bane of the world in my opinion. It's the mess they leave behind, once they're down they pretty much stay there until some poor soul "finds" it.

There was a case in Afghanistan where a sniper team was tracking a Taliban VIP and they ran through a valley to get a position where they would be facing his car head on in attempt to one shot him through the windscreen. Only thing was they didnt know that the valley was a mine field from the Soviet war in the 80's.... Once of the snipers got blown 10ft away which meant the medic that abseiled down from the chopper didn't even know if he might be dropping on to one next to him. Horrific.

I suppose this relates to Deus Ex so save making a new topic. It's a link from Steam news that I had never bothered to look at but it is actually quite interesting!
