I'm struggling to be a at work today. Fucking crappy man flu all week. Only
Time my eyes and nose haven't been streaming is last night playing rugby in the wind and rain. Makes no sense what so ever. Not convinced it was the smartest move to go to training but oh well

Haven't played borderlands for few days, I've got a planetside 2 beta key to use now as well so that'll be loaded up over weekend when I get a chance to play anything.

Played it a bit more at the weekend between working.

Quite enjoying it, it is pretty tough at times but not really overly so. Quite funny in parts. The amount of different achievements are insane, going to take ages to get anywhere near completing all of them.

Still struggling to get my hands on a brilliant weapon though. I had that awesome revolver in the first Borderlands which I had from level 15 or so onwards and was great throughout the game even in to the second playthrough. This time I haven't. Each weapon has a weak point (slow fire rate, small magazine, not accurate enough, slow reload).

No bugs yet either which is a rarity in games.

Have played online for a short period but end up getting disconnected due to the person leaving the game which gets really annoying. Loading times are 1-2 seconds between destinations too which has the negative of me not being able to read the text on the loading screen.

The loading screen text is all normal tutorial crap anyway. I did a quest from Zed to look for an e-tech gun from some bandit mini boss. Killed the guy and got an e-tech assault rifle for my commando that had a 200 odd clip size and did great damage. I handed in the quest and he took the rifle and gave me an e tech pistol!!! What the fuck! I was not impressed lol. I find the game is getting a bit easier as I get more skill points, if I find a decent gun I'll be laughing. Still have. Y golden key as well so saving that for a higher level.

I didn't notice either that I managed to gamble away all my money in moxies. Then gave her a $1k tip by accident lol

When you give her $10,000 using $1,000 tips she gives you a weapon. The one she gave me was shit and only worth $2,500.

Spent a fair bit on the one-arm bandit machines too but again haven't got many good weapons out of that. It is a good source of Eridium though. Good to get the backpack size up as quick as possible (mine is now full).

There's also a guy in Sanctuary who gives out free weapons (and the are apparently really good ones) who appears only 10% of the time and has various locations where he appears but he only appears up until a certain "event" happens at which point he is gone (I think). There was a bug on the 360 and he showed up 100% of the time and people were getting loads of awesome weapons.

There is a nice range of monsters now too, BL1 felt like it was pretty much bandits, skags and raak.

Yeah I found out about that after. Apparently you can get the guns more than once so you can get them afterwards "again" but some are saying they've got the 2 guns from her and spent £250k upward and got no more so who knows.

Judging by the weapon I got from here I think I will wait for a lucky drop.

I know as soon as I open the golden loot box I am going to be extremely disappointed.

Guess the ideal thing to do is level up as much as possible, open up the golden loot box and put the stuff in to Claptraps stash which you can then use on a new character but the level is going to be extremely high.

I haven't bothered with the stash at all. Unless you have two max level characters I'm not going to be bothered about passing mid level items between chars all too much. Unless its something particularly epic that it's worth saving. I just want to get to about level 40 or whatever it is so I can lob two turrets around that both have shields. Will be awesome (I imagine!).

The only time I really use my special skill is when I press the wrong button. Only thing it is really useful for is getting ammo (restocks ammo on selected weapons). You can't zoom when using two weapons so accuracy goes pretty crap especially from a distance.

Just doing some reading, apparently the loot has been shit and some people have had the player upgrades for a different type (i.e. commando got mecromancer upgrades).

First proper campaign DLC comes out tomorrow.

Mecromancer characters skill looks brilliant by the way, played with one online.

Haven't tried it myself, levelling seems to take longer that I remember it doing in the first game so I can't be bothered really. I use my action skill whenever I can although sometimes the fight is over before I find a "good spot". But te cool down is pretty lengthy so you don't want to accidentally lob the turret behind a wall or something. Thankfully the cool down reduction is on third tier of the tree I'm in an that with having two turrets should be pretty awesome.

Check out Randy Pitchford on Twitter. He is tweeting out free codes to get more golden keys:

https://twitter.com/DuvalMagic

Unfortunately you have to enable them in game and can't be done in the browser and they only last for 3-4 hours a time.

Hopefully I can get one by the time I get home. If I do I will try one of my keys, see what shit I get.

Edit: Got home and the code worked. Tried it out and got two purple pistols, they aren't too bad slightly better than what I already had.
