I got phone and net. Went with Sky for TV. More expensive, but better selection.
Yeah thats the general feel i get, but virgin is improving all the time to be fair. And since i only watch sports channels and movie channels i only miss out on a few movies, i dont really miss the racing channel and that.

My friend has SkyBB and i was quite impressed with his speeds at 10mb. I dont know why but i've just always preferred cable television, i think its cos my grandparents live on Portland, Weymouth so they werent exactly in the best reception area and in bad weather (coastal gales/rains) they got a lot of interference. And i always imagined sky, seeing as there tele is satellite either use crappy unreliable satellite internet or steal someone else's (BT?) landlines. This of course was all something i made up in my head about 6 years ago and i have actually no idea how it all works, but once you get an idea its stuck in there isn't it.

Like Coca-Cola/Pepsi or Sprite/7up. One is always preferred even though they are practically the same.

Sky BB uses the BT phone line.

Luckily our satellite is pretty well hidden from the elements, but it was quite bad at my parents house with just a light wind.

In the future when the Sky contract runs out I may look again at Virgin. But they only had 1 or 2 HD channels.

Without paying extra for the HD (skysports/movies etc) i can only think of bbc HD. And it pisses me off the if you buy a 24 hour rental off of Front Row (virgin box office) it costs an extra £1 or £1.50 for HD

I think Sky and Virgin are both getting ITV HD later this year as it's only available via freesat at the mo.
