I liked the idea as well and when I saw Gus (from Breaking Bad) I expected it to be a good one
but it just wasn't getting me hooked.

Just watched the season finale.

Power came back on (despite power stations not running for 15 years everyone's lights and radios came on). Then missiles were fired at certain cities. Then you saw that the President was still alive at Guantanamo Bay (15 years later?! Surely there should have been an election).

Been renewed for a second season.

Wow, That sounds stupid and unrealistic. Glad I stopped when I did.
No idea how it got a second season... 3 episodes was enough for me.
