Well the new ATi HD 2900 XT cards came out today at just under £300. Performance differs depending on the review that you read. Some have it competing with the 8800GTX which costs ~£375 and others with the 8800GTS which is around ~£280.

I am not sure whether to keep my 8800GTS and get a new screen or get the HD 2900 XT, sell the 8800GTS and wait a little bit for the screen.

at 132.quid, even if they do turn out to be pants, you will still make a few quid reselling it on ebay saying "i bought this for my laptop only to find....... ;-)

Yup, and they normally ship for around £270.

I assume they sold too many at £132 and have to try and make up their losses.

I doubt they will, £500 is just under double the price of one anywhere else.
