I liked XIII (at least when you get out of the linear bit) but not liking this one so far, it's not a bad game, it's just a bad Final Fantasy.

There are some good things though, I'm just saying the bad things because I'm a grumpy bastard.

About 18 hours in now. All very repetitive and although it's made to seem like it isn't linear, it is still pretty linear.

I also think I levelled up a bit too much early on. I start with COM/COM/COM and that kills pretty much everything without taking much damage, if they don't appear to be doing much, switch to RAV/RAV/RAV and get it staggered, then switch to COM/COM/COM and job done. Boss battles with target time of 5mins+ are taking around 40-50 seconds.

Storyline also makes no sense with all the time travelling.

Hate to say it but they have fucked up with Cactuar and Tonberry is very different to FF8.

Can be a good game though when you get the occasional tough battle where you need to think through the paradigms.

DLC - http://www.vg247.com/2012/02/07/final-f ... -xbox-360/

Didn't realise they were coming out so soon. Quite cheap but with MS points, it's a pain in the arse as you have to add around £20's worth to buy something for £1.

Hope they do one for Vivi, he would be an awesome RAV.

I need to get some work done so won't be playing that much over the next few days.

I would put it on par with FF12, FF10 but I seem to be the only one who didn't really enjoy FF10.

I really liked XII - It was the only game that seemed really balanced in terms of difficulty also. The hunts where a cool adition, the story branched pretty nicely and Balthier/Basch and GABRANTH! where deadly characters ( and that scientist Cid ) - Vann and Penello where annoyin fucks though.

The main things that annoyed me about X, XII and XIII were some of the characters, mainly the voice acting.

Completed it in 31 hours.

Just got loads of side quests to do now.

Final boss battles were a piece of piss which was disappointing, the final one did take 16mins where the target time was 11mins but that was due to me being cautious. I have had more trouble in some of the random battles throughout the game.

And just before the credits you see the dreaded words in any game, TV show or film.

"To be continued..."

Estimates for the game were 60 hours so I guess it's like FFXIII where half the game is taken up by sidequests.

Awh :( i still havent played more than an hour. Dont even have my Xbox atm. Let me know if the side quests are any better, cause in XII they took up almost as much of the game as the actuall fuckin game. The hardest fights in it where the side quests.

There are other random battles which are harder. Giant Cactuar can be taken down in around 20 seconds which is disappointing but Long Gui makes a return with 4million HP and with a smaller team it is much harder.

The final boss only had 1million HP and it's two minions which it kept resurrecting were fairly easy and was a good time to heal (can't remember how much they had). It was the easiest final boss fight I can remember.

And despite all my gripes about the game it was 30 hours well spent and I do want to carry on playing it so I guess it can't be that bad.
