l4d problems :(

Hey im having a problem with left 4 dead and its pissing me off loads,,
it keeps failing after 10 retrys when i try connect to server msn works fine, css works fine, internet works fine, l4d fails but works for a friend :/ any ideas ?

Probably a port blocked by your router or something similar.

Go on to the Steam forums and find out which ports it uses.

Alternatively make sure the l4d.exe is in your firewalls allowed programs list.

whats weird tho. its been workin fine all day. few minutes later. EPIC fail

seems to have fixed itself. its connecting but after 1 or 2 retrys.. then abit of lag. same thing happened to cs once. think ill just see how it is 2moro. what i did with cs and all was good

You using a Wireless connection??
When I first got L4D I was using a wireless connection, it timed out, even CSS timed out. CoD4 got "Connection Problems in-game".

If your using a wireless connection I'd advise you to buy an ethernet cable and connect to the router instead of the wireless.
Wireless = Bollox.

ha im on wireless yeh but its been fine till now. ANY other game works fine. cod4, css etc etc
probs have to get a switch.. router in the room directly below me
i get paid soon anyway

fixed l4d simply by moving the fuckin wireless adapter... fussy cunting thing. ordered a switch anyway so i can go wired
