X-Men Origins
I've read a few reviews and there seems to be some disappointment with it. But we know how overly critical critics can be so has anyone got a "normal" persons perspective. Can't say im a massive X fan so it's not a massive deal but if its a straight to DVD film i dont wanna be splashing £7 a ticket at flicks.

I think it has got quite poor reviews from normal people to.
There was a workprint out on the net around a month before it came out in the cinema. They claimed that it would be a poor showout at the cinema because of it, but it managed to get more in it's first 3 days than the next top 9 films got in the same time ($90 million).

Well, Wolverine is such a fan boy character a lot of the masses are gonna go and see it regardless. Not to mention all the hype (fcuk wolverine t-shirts anyone?).
Plus X-Men is cooler than most of the other comic book stuff. I mean Wolverine is up with the dark knight, so all the chavs will go too.
Hopefully some of them will try impersonating him and shoot each other hoping they will regenerate afterwards.

Dark Knight was over rated. Although the Blu-ray of it has excellent sound.

Gotta disagree there skelebob. Great film. Probably the only film thats been released in the last 5 years that i've bothered to watch more than once. But i was a lil joker obssessed with this film, in fact its still my desktop wallpaper at work because it looks so god damn cool.skeletor wrote:Dark Knight was over rated.

Nah. Gran Torino is the best film recently.Revolver wrote:Gotta disagree there skelebob. Great film. Last 5 years...Man on Fire was out in 2004 that was way better than the Dark Knight.
Righteous Kill, that was 2008, better than the Dark Knight.
I'm not saying the Dark Knight was crap, it just wasn't anywhere near as good as the critics made out. Heath Ledger did a very good performance and pretty much exactly like the comic but people just played on the fact that he was dead rather than the fact it was a good acting role.
Crank 2: High Voltage is also better than The Dark Knight. Full body tourettes FTW!!
Transformers....Megan Fox...must be a good film...(with the exception of How to lose and alienate your friends which had her and Simon Pegg in which was absolute drivel).

Xmen origins, a watchable film if you like the other x's as it explains his character and goes into quite alot of depth for a 1 and a half hour jobby. If your not a major fan i would wait until dvd/decent torrent.
Was made out to be all dark and moody but it was no where near as grim as the last batfink flick.
On a side note, Gran torino is a pretty special flick but it cant really be put in the same discusion as dark knight or xmen origins. May as well put usual suspects/fargo/heat/god father pt2/casino/goodfellas in with it...

True, but I was refering to recent films, otherwise I would of brought up The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption.PooNTaNG wrote:On a side note, Gran torino is a pretty special flick but it cant really be put in the same discusion as dark knight or xmen origins. To be honest i think seven is still up there as one of favourites...
Aliens for sci-fi...
And poss "The Game" for thriller...
