Well since i put this Kaspersky on (no idea if its just coincidence) i have been getting major lag issues in CS where it just freezes for 10 seconds +
Then yesterday i put in a new modem (from virgin) and got massive latency. Then realised it handt set up the mac adress. Rang em up and got it all connected but no i cant connect to steam or msn. msn troubleshooter say its key ports but wont fix it itself and steam was at firsrt just stuck on updating and then said it wouldnt connect and nowit says summit bout a "steam.exe (main exception): Unable to load Steam.dll"
i've tried most of stuff i found googling but kinda stuck atm.
Any ideas?

Re: Completely stuck
Uninstall Kaspersky, see if it helps. It may just be too protective with default settings.
Re: Completely stuck
u have it running in background ? if so then just close it from start bar at bottom or task manager. if it still lags then do what skel said

Re: Completely stuck
and as for steam i did some digging around for ya. seems to be firewall related. close the motherfucker down it SHOULD work.. some some dude says

Re: Completely stuck
Defragging will not fix any problems what so ever.
Your new router could be mis configured if MSN and Steam thinks the ports are closed.

Re: Completely stuck
It's a modem not a router?

Re: Completely stuck
So it's purely a modem?
Something to do with firewall/ports on modem/router.
