Vambos rig

Post by vambo »

Some pics of my new rig, couldnt be arsed to get my pair of raid0 raptors out of the cage, ull just have to take my word for it they are there.

You like the super cool p180 case?

if any of you ever require a new case this is the one to go for, it drops temps by about 5c, by far the best case i have seen and used in all my time being a nerdy computer addict!

P180 is a great case indeed, but if you want lower temps mine will bring them down a couple more, although you do get silly blue LEDs that light up the whole room at night :S

You should get a proper heatsink too. The stock heatsink is crap. I put a Tuniq Tower 120 on mine, although the idle temp only dropped 1 degree, the load temp was down 16 degrees!!

I'm thinking of getting a Zalman 9800cu
http://www.3dgameman.com/content/view/6722/103/1/6/

Just to try it against my Big water cooling kit i also have. The pumps windings broke down and has been sent away for repair, but even when it does come back i might not re-install it.

I got it for a bargin off e-bay and just thought i would give it ago for the same price i would have spent on a decent aircooler. So i'm really undecided and am thinking should i wait till it comes back? i was also maybe thinking of using the bigwater just for my X1950pro, but hear these dont overclock to good.

That said i could just get the air cooler and wait till i upgrade my gpx card (maybe sept/nov time) and use the water cooling on that. Either way i will have to buy a gpx water block and i cant spend any more cash on this thing at the moment. Its already took a chunk of my soul with the chunk of cash it has dragged from me.

When u posting pics skel?
no worrys ive seen them, Very nice skel i like that case too (apart from the led's) i wish i had a top firewire, audio port etc might mod it one day if i decide im not being geeky enough and need to catch up!

I have the Tuniq Tower 120 which is the 2nd best air cooler. Was recently beaten by the ThermalTake 120 Ultra+.

Zalmans are normally pretty good, although they have the standard fan that you can't replace.

The new P190 case looks awesome, I will get some pics later.

Yes skel i was looking at this case before i brought mine, but it kept getting put back and as of yet you still cant get one! 2x extra fans one being a big 200mm one on the side dubbed the 'big boy'
Looks like an better case all round, i hear that it will be availible without to two psu's also.

The Stainless one looks sweet, like scarlett johanssen without any clothes on. delish... :D

The only problem with the P182 is the same problem with the Sonata's and that is fingerprints.

They have such a brillant finish on them, you can clearly see your reflection on the Sonata but fingerprints make it horrible.

its a look but dont touch pc then... well i mean really though once ur pc is setup u dont really need to touch it though do you? thats just not possible for me but for someone like my dad who doesnt even know where the dvd drive is on his pc it would look fab in his new funky office, as the pc would just sit there untouched looking like a cubish mirror.... coool!

It's when you move it to put new hardware on or something like that.

I even have scratches on mine :( Once I saw the first scratch (I am still acusing my mum of that with the vacuum cleaner) I lost of my care for it and it got covered.
