ATI Mobility HD 3650 Driver?

Post by Revolver »

OK so i've been looking and so far there is summit about the manufacturer (of the laptop) has to provide up to date drivers?
Then I found that there is a ATI Catalyst modded version or something of sort. Then I found out that is unstable in vista or doesn't have its own version... So, basically, WTF?

If i right click desk top I do get a Catalyst option but i wanted to make sure i had the right or best/up to date driver i could. Anyone with ideas and/or knowledge on the subject?

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

Select OS -> Radeon -> Radeon HD 3600

It's the closest match.

Or

http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx

Select Motherboard/Integrated Video Drivers

Then your OS.

Download the full package (oo err), should be version 9.6. The first number is the year since 2000, the second number is the month they were released. ATi (AMD) release a new driver every month.

So the fact its a mobility makes no odds?
Would you recommend uninstalling old display driver before installing this one or just a whack over the top job?

Yes you should do, especially in the old age of computing although it is less important nowadays as the doesn't seem to be as many problems. But it's better to be safe than sorry.
