Change broadband?

Post by joeb619 »

Currently my broadband is BT 8Meg, 10GB download limit for £15.65 per month. To go unlimited downloads it would be £24.46.

I was lookin around and O2 broadband 8Meg, unlimited download limit is £12.26. And 20Meg, unlimited download limit is £14.68.

Do you think its worth swapping over? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

O2 broadband is one of the best, not sure if it has limits though. If it has go to to Be who are owned by O2, they do unlimited for £20 a month, if you do a 3 month contract, or if you do a 12 month contract it is £17.50 a month.

I used them when I lived with my parents they were £24 at the time for up to 24Mb, unlimited downloads. Then all of a sudden I got an email saying they were cutting it down to £18 a month due to competition, but there wasn't anyone else offering 24Mb at the time, but I didn't care, got the same service for £6 a month less.

But as Blaze said, stay away from mobile broadband.

Also if you have an O2 phone, you can get a discount with O2 broadband.

Need your phone number to get further than that, but looking at this page - http://broadband.o2.co.uk/home/packages.jsp

Find out what speed you can get from your exchange. If the O2 site doesn't tell you, then the Be website should, as it always used to. If you can't get anymore than 8Mb then stick to the Standard package otherwise get the Premium package for £14.68 (£9.79 if you have an O2 phone) which is more or less the same as the Be package which is £17.50.

The company that owns O2 is the main telecoms company in Spain, so they are absolutely loaded, which also allows them to offer ridiculously cheap prices compared to most others.

Yeah, customer service is normally pretty good, they say unlimited and mean unlimited.
