thinking of building and selling pcs

Post by skeletor »

I am thinking of building computers and selling them. Would have to wait for payment to go through before I could go ahead and buy the parts and put it together though.

Do you think many people would buy prebuilt systems from an unknown business?

I would say yes but alot of people hate paying before recieving
so it really depends on how much you're wanting and how long they have to wait for it to
be built and sent to them.

Apart from that yeah i think people would especially if your computers
are CHEAPER than regular manufactorers and also good performances
plus warrenty :P

I have thought about this too, and to sum up you just cannot compete with the major players on the market they have much more attractive products that come bundled with software that you would not be able to supply. Also thay have (crap) hardware freebees like cameras and cheap printers that make a much more attractive purchase to the average buyer. Unless you can source the hardware at super cheap prices than you will always be beaten on bundled value with the major players... for example have alook at aldi's computers they are amazing value for money for what you get. http://www.medion.de/md8822/uk/flash.html

think its hard to buy parts cheap enough to make a profit, on ebay people sell gaming rigs for about 400 quid with fuck all in them just a flashy case.

A worse specification from Dell costs £728.24. I am offering a better specification for £635, that is including £40 for me.

And I would be able to give a year warranty as all the parts are covered for a year. And as I would be using good components rather than the bulk buy shit of Dell I wouldn't expect it to go wrong in 2 years.

But do you actually recieve before you pay though? Your credit card is normally billed then it is sent once the payment goes through. The worst thing that I would want is someone to say that want one, I build one out of my own money then they say no.

Software wise you get quite a bit with graphics cards and DVD drives so you would get Nero and a free game or too.

I would be selling high quality PCs built to last for more than a couple of years. That rig up there is more than capable of playing CSS at high settings and is pretty much silent.
