Sittings exams, WTF?!

Post by Revolver »

So start of December will be my 2 exams to finish my AAT Technician course. I just can't motivate myelf to revise. Seriously i should be up for it because if I pass I won't have to worry about college again unless i wanna do SEMA or ACCA (not for a few years i dont think) and i will probably (like 90% sure) get another pay rise.

I simply can't do it, I've been saying since fucking August "ooh i'll start revising soon" and i just havn't. Anyone have any ideas? I mainly need to get off comp and xbox and start looking at books. Other thing to note is, to revise for AAT i can just keep doing old exam papers so it's not like proper studying, its probably easier.

Two hours a night for 3-4 nights a week should do me easy, do you think making a timetable or something will work? Rewarding myself with a curry? I don't know.

You need to get rid of your distractions.

I have never really revised properly and been OK. I see revision as cheating as you are not showing a knowledge of how to answer the questions but remembering how you should answer the questions.

It may be best to go down your local library, you will find it so boring you will want to read the books.

This AAT is like that from Level 2. The 3 exams that cover level 2 and then 3 can be practically memorised by doing the last 5 years over and over again.

Unfortunately its just how it goes, because I've been doing stuff at work recently that I did at college and hadn't even realised it was something we'd covered at college. That is just because anything they put on an exam paper or in a textbook cannot properly convert to real life.

So, the simple thing to do is like with your driving test. Learnt to drive how they want you to to pass the test, then learn properly when you start driving.

AH Rev its alway's the same in any course my mcp networking exam is two week's away and i be saying ah any day now i start :):)But thankfully i like networking so got two weeks study schedule so here's some tip's i done to work around workand study so maybe it might help you plan something ..

1) after work do nothing for two hours then do 1 hr study depending on your shift hrs etc but least get 4 out of 5 days of week good commited study time in or then your just messing :)
2) After 1 solid hr take a break tv excrise etc ... for 30 minutes i find helps or css which sometimes goes over the 30mins with me :)
3) After that then do 2hrs i find music gets me focused on the first three days of studying as it helps pass the time whislt i study and i dont look for other things but nothing to disctracting ..
to do least this kinda plan your geting in 3hrs study a night for a few days then after a while you can try push it to four thats mine anyway and i manage to pass test most of the time :)

Just my two cents of study plan for me next two weeks .. And dont forget the odd css break wil cut back soon on that to you should try also it frees up hours of your day you wont ever realise you had :)So how i study i find works you can only try to :)

There is no point doing an hours worth. The average human can only keep concetration on a subject for around 35minutes, some can push 40-45mins.

Replace studying with masturbation and you will get a good arm for arm wrestling...
