stop copying my arse, you can do everything you can do in XP, rip cds dvds its all good in the hood.

crysis will work on xp with directx9 but will look and run a lot better on vista with directx 10 :D

I have vista ultimate had it since it come out @ end of jan. I have not once gone back to my hard drive with xp on it cause its just shite in comparision.

Its very easy to use access to everything is easy and above all its fast! i can boot up shut down and boot back up again in the same time it takes xp to boot! to put it in sleep its even faster takes like 3seconds to turn off to sleep and the same to restart its also more stable than xp i have only had one crash and that was cause i set my memory timings a little to tight! 8) i think.

Youll like it skel. most applications can be run even if it says it cant, you just have to change access rights of the file!

I agree with vambo, the only problem for me vista vastly reduces my fps in css, so i have a dual boot with xp just to play css.

that is because nvidia have shitty drivers for it.

I won't wipe my XP yet, I will dual boot for the time being I think the 8800 drivers are still dodgy.

Its not really a driver issue, its the resourses that vista requires. When vista idles it uses about 30-50% of your ram, and the more ram you have the more it utilises. You could turn all the fancy visuals off, but then vista basically returns to acting like XP. All you can do is try it and see. Blade has a much better system than me and he gets the same problem.

No it really is a driver issue, well at least it is with the 8800 as they need a different driver from all the previous graphics cards.

Nvidia buggered up on the drivers for it and thats not just for Vista also XP.

All the resources in the RAM can be turned off, can't remember where, but I read it could. If you disable it though programs will take longer to load up. I think I will leave it on and see how games cope, find out the option to turn it off and see what difference it makes. But people have noticed a difference in program load times when disabled.
