Year ain't over yet.

I have downloaded it and played a bit of single player.

Hyped up to buggery. I must be missing something, there isn't anything in this game that seperates it from all the other shooters IMO. I prefered Crysis to MW2.

It looks pretty (not as nice as Crysis or Far Cry) but gameplay is the same as the last ones, there were graphical glitches in random places such as cut scenes which you don't expect with the models clipping walls and showing through snow.

Game of the Year will likely be L4D2. It really is polished and good to play.

If you mixed Borderlands, L4D2 and Killing Floor with a bit of Diablo stuff to fix the Borderlands bugs, you would have game of the year.

Didn't like Crysis, and it isn't that good looking. Farcry 2 was not too bad, but after a couple of missions it gets really boring. I downloaded the demo of L4D2, but after 3 minutes I had enough of it.

L4D2 is something you have to play with friends, same as Killing Floor and Borderlands.

Far Cry was boring indeed, same shit and took too long to get from one place to another.

Crysis Warhead was much better than the original Crysis. I still haven't done the original Crysis but have done Warhead.

Ahh..thought you were referring to the original one. I haven't seen Warhead, are the graphics as ridiculous demanding as in the original one?

Yes, sort of. It looked the same to me on the same settings, but I was able to up it a notch as it ran a bit better but not a whole lot more.

I couldn't understand why it had to be such an heavy engine. Because it didn't look that much better than other games imo.

It did look quite good when set up to max but it was minor details like plants etc that benefitted more than the models and main textures.

But the engine was not very good, when you compare the looks and performance to the Unreal 3 engine, you wonder why Crytek even bothered.

Just completed the story mode bit and FUCKIN HELL. Towards the end of the game its actually fuckin amazing. If you do get the game, play it on hard mode though. More of a challenge, you cant just run in and spray, have to actually be tactical. Left the ending open as wel so im guessing there wil be a MW3. Well worth the money you pay for this game.

Did you try the first Modern Warfare on hard? Fuck me its ridiculous. I started playing through it again on the laptop.

Seeing as you're playing it on PS3 it is going to be easier. It has to be because a pair of analogue sticks do not measure up to the accuracy of a mouse.

Yeah i did the first one on hard. On regular it doesnt seem a challenge though, you can just run and spray in the general direction and kill everything. Hard or Veteran you actually need tactics and stuff (Veteran is stupidly hard though).

The spec ops is bloody good as well, and its 2 player online. So you can join up with a friend to do missions which is pretty fun. I think it would be bloody amazing if they made the story mode coop.

Debating if i should get it on the PC as well. Il have to see around xmas time how much money i have left.
I'm back :)
