Re: may not get on for a bit
well first i couldnt get on line... then the thing just cut out.... then wouldnt boot up at all... then it would..... then some of the usb ports have been playing up.... now it wont read one of the external HD ... ive fitted a pci usb card in it and a new eithernet port...which seems to have solved it .. but it means 2 usb ports at the front are knackered and possibly 2 at the back are causeing some problems.... ive had to re-install windows ..which took me 3 goes...and some programs like photoshop will need re-installing now grrrrrrrrrr.... so its just acting wacky....
now medion are a bit like samsung in my opinion.... my monitor is a samsung ,and has serverd me well... my fridge is a samsung and has been nothing but hassle..
i bought a medion portable dvd player... than will only work when pluged in..and will only read really old flashsticks ??? new ones wont work... and my dad had 4 replacment medion dvd recorders..then gave up.... so im not sure... having said that the spec on that pc looks ok for the money.....
aldi...bit like their food tbh... bit hit and miss..
but im open to options

I saw that Medion on another forum and there were quite a few people who said that have laptops from Medion for over 3 years without a problem.
Isn't your PC an Overclockers prebuild? If so is it not in warranty? The motherboard should be anyway if you contact who ever made it (Asus/Gigabyte etc).

Re: may not get on for a bit
ive had it ages now... more than 3 years i imagine. its never been very reliable tbh... the medion pc seems tempting... by the time ive bought a new board/cpu/ram/new graphics card... its gonna be way more than £350 ish..... maybe i should try it out

Re: may not get on for a bit
Just done some of the spec on Overclockers.
For just the CPU, motherboard, RAM, graphics and hard drive, it comes to £400.
Only problem is the graphics card that comes with the Medion is shite, probably worse than what you already have.

Re: may not get on for a bit
Buy one seperate, for £350 if you already have all the peripherals you need just buy the medion and spend £100 on a graphics card.... Only prob for me there is that I don't already have a monitor lying around. So thats another £100 on top.skeletor wrote:Just done some of the spec on Overclockers.

edit: Didn't think about the power supply and stuff though. Obviously that makes a difference if you're looking to upgrade it.

I am waiting on someone else who is getting one to tell me what motherboard, PSU etc Medion are using. I imagine they cheaped out.
