Mass Effect/2

Post by Revolver »

OK so the 2nd one is out in January or early Feb. I havn't finished the first one yet (probably about half way thorugh on 360).

So, to anyone thats played it. Is it worth finishing? Seeing as I havn't decided what platform to get the 2nd game on yet, is it worth playing from scratch on PC since you can import your old Shephard into the 2nd game? Apparently playing with mouse and keyboard (can you believe) makes it a lot lot better??

Never played the first one.

From what I remember it got a lot of press about a "nude" scene and that is pretty much all I heard about it.

Basically character interaction in your group means you can get laid with some bird thats tagging along with you.

It was a quite good game though. I think my problem palying through it was i tried to do all the side missions and stuff, and some are crap (especially when you drive the god awful vehicle on some of the planets... eugh).

I might just finish it by blasting through the main quest.

To be honest half the problem is the time consumption to play these games. Not only that you have to stay on them consecutively, because like I've said already I can't remember the plot lines and characters from Mass Effect so if I went back now it would likely take me a while to figure it out and ruin half the plot in the process.

Fallout 3, the save game I had (and I hadn't even explored everywhere, i completely missed Big Town) that finished the game (no add-ons) was at 55 hours. That is probably because I was bed bound after an operation when I got that though (xmas 08). I really need to play the add-ons but I don't want to lose another 30 hours to fallout at the moment lol. Plus, I get pissed off that you can't reapply stats, because I've got wasted stat points now. I toyed with the idea of levelling a new char and planning my points and stats, but I got to level 5 and gave up lol. When you realise the amount of time you did actually invest (finding bobbleheads, doing some of the longer side quests like Blood Lines, and just general exploring and collecting) I kinda gave up on it.

Tip for anyone playing fallout 3, get intelligence to 9, get to Rivet City as early as possible for the intelligence bobblehead and you will have enough skill points to max near enough everything...

I booted up Mass Effect last night, I got very bored very quickly. I have to admit I think a lot of my Xbox gaming is hampered by my shit tele. But I don't fancy buying it again on PC. Not unless they offer it in a Mass Effect bundle and the second game gets rave reviews, might consider it then.
