Unable to Update steam.

Steam will open and start to update then freeze at 51%, all was fine last thursday and this happened on friday.
I have disabled firewalls, deleted the blob file and finally totally deleted steam and reloaded latest steam install.
Just tried it on my lappy with the same results. Gonna unplug my router later and try a modem....

Close Steam

Go to C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam and delete the ClientRegistry.blob

Restart Steam.

plugged my modem in and the problem is still there, seems if my isp has really throttled down my connection
to steam, this could be goodbye

I will have ring them tomorrow and give em a right spanking!!!!!!!!!!!

Do a speed check on your internet connection.

anyway tried the speed test .....interesting results...

Downstream 42.9 Kbps ( = 0.0 Mbps )
Upstream 135.0 Kbps ( = 0.1 Mbps )

so this test reports my downstream is slower than dial up...lol.

But when i download from anywhere else i get 250kb/s which is max for my 2mb connection.

An hour ago my download speed jumped from 2kb/s to 200 kb/s ??????????????
Must of been that savage phonecall to my isp...

Is there any mention of the server ip on this forum.
