cheers for the best wishes... but as it turned out it was probably the worsed birthday u could imagine..

on saturday night a couple of friends invited me and the wifey and devil spawn round for a curry and lash.. sounds good..so off we went..

there was about 6 kids raging around but all was fun... until...

a load skriek and the youndest devil spawn comes running down the stairs... he had cut the top of his finger off... in a big wooded door :(

im not joking it was like something out of a horror film... it had cut thru the bone about 20 mm below the finger nail.. and was hanging to the side by a strip of skin.... to the left of the finger..

i think i shouted ohh shit get a ambulance... and then sat him down.. and basically put the top of the finger back in place..covered it and waited for the ambulance to arive.. they taped it..and took us down to a+e..

anyway having looked at it they basically said an operation was needed ... so i had to sleep in the hospital.. half lashed and burping and farting curry wiff all night with the injured devil spawn :( in the meantime more horror was to come when they had to get a candular into a vien to get some antibiotics into him fast... hes only 4...hard to find viens in an arm of a 4 year old.... so after 2 atempts... and me actually throwing a massive whitey during one gouging session..and him proclaming " i dont want any more spikey things :( " he fell asleep ...and a more experienced doc got the needle in... so antibiotics were given.

in the morning about 9 0clock they got him into surgery... i had to watch him biend put under :( which is a bit worrying and then wait an hour to see what happened.

basically they took his nail off and stiched the finger toghether... and a metal spike is going into his finger bone ..thru the tip of the finger .. to hold it in place........ i thought he was gonna lose it so fingers crossed ( no pun intended) its gonna heal ok... spike to be taked out in a week..

got out the hospital.. on my birthday..at 4.40 pm...stuffed a big tastey down for my birthday tea.... and necked a load of beer .... horrific really...

Shit, that is a pretty bad birthday, only thing that could of made it worse is if you had shat yourself in the hospital.

Hope the little'un is alright though.

That happened to my bro when we was nippers. Well, a bit older. I was prolly 10 and him 12. He trapped it in thehinge side of a big wooden door and it was "like a flip ketchup lid". He had to have injection down the length of his finger and all that jazz too. Don't think he had to have a spike though :| Somehow it's ok now and I am not even sure if you can tell where it was or anything. So I can tell you first hand fingers on kids heal well.

Hope he's ok anyway chap. Don't like to ever see kids get hurt but as we all know, these things happen.
