Steam UI

Post by joeb619 »

What does everyone think? Only problem i've found with it so far is that when you try to purchase something using paypal once you click the log in button to paypal steam crashes. Looked online and apparently everyone is getting this problem. So had to purchase it online, using firefox. Which isnt really trouble... Would just be easier if it actually worked properly lol. But i guess the point of BETA is to find out what is wrong with it.
I'm back :)

Much better than the previous one, especially all the stats when you press Shift + Tab in game.

I also had the problem with buying through Steam so ended up using Firefox which like you said isn't a problem and it showed up immediately in Steam so no restarting necessary.

Some button text is missing for me, so some of the notifications at the bottom right are coming up blank and when talking on Steam friends the Send button has no text.

The downloads page is good though, seeing the speed and what games are downloading.

Another thing is in the 'library' bit where all your games are, i would prefer it if it had the favourites bit at the top again. Made it a easier to find like css, mass effect 2 etc. Now they have the favourite bit but when you click it it only shows favourites, not the rest of the games as well. Not much of a problem, just would make it easier. Layout is much better though.

And Rev, Quote Skel in the borderlands topic "Login to Steam, go to Settings then on the general tab it says something along the lines of beta programs and you can join it. Some people have had trouble and had to redownload whole games etc so be warned if you do it." Its a new layout etc for steam, very sexy.

I downloaded it. Worked it out all by myself (after being told).
It's OK, I think in general I like all of it except the My Games list. I mean come on, it's a bit crap. You should at least be able to put favourites at the top and it should sort the same as before. Favourites, installed, not installed. Just trying to rip iTunes on a lot of it as well. Like the "album cover" view of games.
