Re: Heroes
I am not surprised at all. Second series sent it down the path of no return.
If they wanted to keep it going they probably should have done what they were originally going to and that was to have new characters for every series. Keeping it fresh. It was probably Hiro's character that ruined it all, the time altering meant it had too much effect. And the whole paradox effect etc etc.
I am going to watch the first series again though, fucking ace. Best series I've ever bothered to watch. But then again, I really havent bothered to watch that many

Re: Heroes
Dexter, Breaking Bad and Fringe to name 3 quickly that are a world apart in greatness compared to Heroes, they are all better than the first series of Heroes.

Re: Heroes
I saw adverts for Breaking Bad on Sky One when it first came out and chose to ignore it. Big mistake, excellent show.
Quite a few shows I watch now, all from the US:
American Dad
Family Guy
The Cleveland Show
The Simpsons
The Pacific
Breaking Bad
Two and a Half Men
The Big Bang Theory
V
Modern Family
South Park
Fringe
Flash Forward
30 Rock
Stargate Universe
Spartacus Blood and Sand
Futurama
Better Off Ted
Dexter
Men of a Certain Age
Pure Pwnage
I also watch The Guild, but that is a short web series.
If they were all on during the same week (they aren't due to being on at different times of the year and series ending etc), I would watch 10-11 hours of TV a week.

Re: Heroes
30 Rock and modern family have never appealed to me either are they better
than what they look? I've watched 2 and half men i think it's alright but i just don't like jake i think his name is =/
and is pure pwnage like a proper series now or still like web based episodes?

Re: Heroes
Pure Pwnage was signed on to do a TV series which has now finished. Don't know if they are renewing it.
I can see how 30 Rock will be subjective amongst people, but I find it funny. There are a lot of jokes focused around US issues so it can be a bit lost on the UK population, but they have quite a few cracking jokes per episode.
For example, the main character is Liz Lemon. In one of the episodes she makes this quote "It wouldn't be a Lemon party without old Dick!" I would put a link to lemonparty, but I am sure we have all seen it...but it is the little jokes like that which keep the show going, as well as this great monologue at the end of the last episode:
Modern Family is like a non-animated Simpsons. Some of the episodes can be quite poor but others are really funny.
Two and a Half Men is funny, although has gone downhill the last few seasons. Jake is a bit of a lost character, especially in the later episodes as he has grown up, it is clear he isn't good enough to be an actor.
V has been renewed for a second season I believe, as had Stargate Universe. Neither shows are brilliant but both good and worth watching (at least in my opinion).
Spartacus Blood and Sand was a good one as I wasn't expecting much. Lots of tits, blood and swearing and a good story line of the uprise in Ancient Rome.
Dexter I can see tailing off with the unfortunate end to the last season. Men of a Certain Age was another positive shock, good drama with some funny bits.
Flash Forward started off with great promise, but soon died and now cancelled which is of no surprise.
The Big Bang Theory is hilarious, geeky comedy at it's best and makes the IT Crowd look even shitter than it is.
Fringe and Breaking Bad are both great shows that on the whole shouldn't be as good as they are, but have some great acting and story line changes.
I really need to catch up on The Pacific, only seen the first 2, turned off the 3rd episode as I was getting bored.

Re: Heroes
I've seen none, chose to avoid it. Will watch Band of Brothers when I get a blu ray hooked up. Then i'll watch Pacific after that.skeletor wrote: I really need to catch up on The Pacific, only seen the first 2, turned off the 3rd episode as I was getting bored.
My Dad said Pacific kicks off in Episode 6 or 8 (can't remember which) for action. I hope it isn't 8 as it is a only a 10 (?) part series.
