Kinda off topic on the Spain front, but Barca won the league with a record 99 points, Real finished second with 96. Given that 96 points would have been a new record too that is pretty fucking unlucky
This is for Ronaldo

I missed both of Messi's goals. Kept switching between football and cricket.

Re: Championship Next Season
So sad to know that as lucky as Cardiff were against my beloved Leicester, they couldnt turn it on in the final at all. I watched the highlights of this game, couldnt believe how crazy it went first half, but Cardiff lacked any class what so ever in the 2nd, I just hope they dont get investment now and get fucked over. I really really mean that. Can't fucking stand them at all.
Blackpool, well, they will at least get to build the final part of their ground, and they wont blow all their cash so they will be stable at least for a while to come, I'd rather see Blackpool in the PL than the likes of Hull and *cough* Burnley
And hopefully, HOPEFULLY, we can get rid of DJ fucking Campbell now to Blackpool.

As much as I hate Cardiff, I wouldn't wish administration on anyone. Being a Leicester fan I would of thought you had the same opinion.

Re: Championship Next Season
The only reason teams go into administation is because of bad management, which is what we had. We had a crap chairman/board at the time and let Peter Taylor waste a lot of money on crap like Ade Akinbiyi.
We learnt our lesson and thnakfully have Milan who has a steady head on his shoulders and has saved the club.
The Cardiff chairman has a bit of a rep for fucking clubs up. Mr Ridsdale. Let's not forget what he did with Leeds United. And did you see how worried he looked during the Cardiff home leg in the semi. That was a man worried about debt and paying it off, not worried about his teams chances.
I didnt wish it on Palace thats for sure, and im very glad you werent relegated because of it. But Cardiff, their fans think they are something special and their chairman is a tit. Sometimes clubs need to learn their lessons the hard way. Cardiff shouldnt have even been in the playoffs after having 3 winding up orders. I'm sure they marquee signings of Hasselbaink and Fowler really helped them with their debts etc.
All clubs need to learn to live within their means. It's only going to take a big club going under for other teams to realise the reality of it all. If Palace, Pompey or Cardiff were to say bye bye, some clubs might start to realise the risk of splashing out more than they can afford.

Re: Championship Next Season
There are a lot of clubs that are in worse financial situations than Palace. The reason Palace went in to administration was because a hostile creditor wanted it's money back and forced the club in to administration. Every other case of administration in football has been voluntary administration by the management. That isn't to say Palace have been managed properly, far from it. Jordan lent the money from the hostile creditors in the first place as he didn't want to put his own money in, but instead secured the loan against his personal wealth which is apparently owned by Lloyds TSB now (it's all very confusing).
Risdale is a cunt, as is Chopra who is pretty much the face of Cardiff, but it isn't fair on the majority of fans. As with all clubs there is a minority (except for Milwall, all a bunch of violent twats) which spoil the name of the club.
Blackpool from what I have heard have been run very well and have one of the lowest wage bills in the championship. Unfortunately that won't work in the Premiership and will likely go straight back down. Burnley also had a very small wage bill, I think it was in the region of £10million per annum. I know Palace's is just under £10million and is apparently one of the smallest wage bills in the division. The biggest earners are on something like £10k a week with most being around £3-4k. When you compare that to the likes of Portsmouth whose lowest of the senior squad probably start around £7-8k, you can see why they are in trouble especially with an ever decreasing team. They used to be a side that you didn't want to play against but are now seen as a fairly easy 3 pointer.
When it comes down to it, if you borrow your money from the right people, you will carry on surviving on the edge of administration unless you change the structure of the club and significantly shrink the wage bill, but the end result is likely relegation which in turn results in less money from TV as well as smaller crowds (except for Norwich who managed to get even more people in when they went down to League One).

Re: Championship Next Season
There are lots of reasons for that though. Look at Blackburn, they sold season tickets at one of the end stands for £100 just to get fans in.
Next time you get a mobile phone contract, how about a free ps3, xbox 360 or if you really fancy it, a Derby County season ticket.... No wonder they get 30k+ fans in each week.
Blackpools average attendance alst year was 8.5k which is terrible, obviously that will go up and so will the prices, but the only massive income diff will be the TV revenue. I think the £90million figure being touted around was more realistic for any of the other teams in the play offs, with larger fan bases, but not for Blackpool.
That £90m figure included increased ticket sales and prices along with shirt sales, merchandise, the list goes on. Either way though, Blackpool won't be going under anytime soon, but they could well become a yoyo club a la West Brom.
Our highest earner at LCFC is DJ Campbell, which is why we want him off loaded. He has enver done well for us and he's an arrogant cock of a bad boi, you gets me blood?
He's on £20k+ a week from whgen Martin Allen signed him, hence why Pearson ships him out all the time and Blackpool pay half his wages. Noone else wanted him though, and he said he doesnt want to play for Leicester, Pearson gave hima few chances but he never seemed interested. He wouldnt leave because he wanted his contract (one year left now) and nobody would match his wages, so Pearson let him rot on the bench unless we can loan him.

Re: Championship Next Season
I thought the £90m figure was for Blackpool as a whole including tourism. The Palace final against West Ham was apparently worth £30m which Palace probably only saw half, if that.
DJ Campbell shouldn't be on anymore than £10k let alone £20k.
And WBA aren't the yo-yo side, that is Palace. Currently the record holder for going up to the Premiership and getting relegated the most times (4).

Thats the wise and wonderful Martin Allen for you. Is he even in a job now? He was at Cheltenham not so long ago, think he got sacked though.skeletor wrote:DJ Campbell shouldn't be on anymore than £10k let alone £20k.
