iPhone 4

Post by Revolver »

OK so i gave in to hype and decided to buy a "top of the range" phone. Never ever have i gave a shita bout mobiles before as i am one of those "if it calls and texts and i can google at the pub quiz im pretty happy". So my E71 was a pretty shit hot phone for me for a good 18months (well, 2 of them if you count the insurance claim  ).

But, seriously, what a piece of kit. I did shit myself because I have a history of throwing touch screen phones at the wall, hence the reason i went for the E71 with a physical qwerty keyboard. But its stupidly intuitive and natural to use, the touch screen feels like its helping you rather than fighting you and although it can be easy to 'mis-click' sometimes its generally easy to use.

Have to say I'm not a huge apple fan but they are taking over the world. Even i've got 2 apple items now (iPod Nano my ex got me for xmas and the new phone). I dread to think what will happen Tesco's and Apple merge 8O

I know the android phones are pretty shit hot as well now but I am very pleased with this. Be interesting to see how long it is before i get bored.

If you're interested in getting one, look at 3 network. I'm paying £30 a month for 500mins, 1Gb data, 5000 3to 3 mins, 5000 texts and 75 picture mails. Phone was £99 but i can get £95 for my old one from one of those recycle companies (unless im one of the unlucky ones that gets ripped off).

Compared to O2 it is much much cheaper, the phone alone on a £30 contract is £169 and you get less in the contract. Plus if you go with 3, you can say i recommended you and we both get credit! 8)

Or you could of got a better/same phone from HTC for £20 a month and not have to pay anything for the phone.

The iPhone is a rip off, there are better products on the market and at a much smaller price. Apple are just a very good marketing company but a standard electronics manufacturer.

And of course all iPhone 4's are defective from the factory with the silly antenna issues.

Is there really an issue? It's as over hyped as the phone itself.

Anyway, a phones a phone im just saying im more impressed with it than i thought i would be. And a few people i know have the HTC Desire and my uncle just got the newer released crapper/budget version and I do like the iPhone more, probably because its mine lol. I admitted that I've never been an Apple fan and on many occasions have said the same as you that they just have good marketing. For example a lot of the walkman's available on the amrket are much better than iPod's quality wise.

The antenna issue is a design flaw, Apple tried to hide it when it first came out, but it is an issue which they finally admitted and are giving everyone free cases to go round the antenna.

I have the HTC Desire, and it is a better phone than the iPhone, although not by a lot, but it costs a lot less.

Well to me, the phone is gonna cost £5, and the contract is as good as anything else I can get on other networks. Believe me, i used spreadsheets to calculate my options lol. I'm sad like that. I'm not going to argue a HTC v iPhone or anything of the sort, but they're both fine phones I do happen to get on with this though. In the same way if i ordered the HTC i'd get on with that too

That and i refuse to go down any apple fan boy arguent route

An extra £5 + the £99 you paid for the phone. Rip off for what you get IMO.

Well £2.20 is a bargain to me for a pint but to you it's a waste of money. We all look at things differently

Edit: I forgot too, dumb blondes that want fucking are impressed by iPhones they don't know what a HTC desire is 8)
