Counter Strike Source And Day Of Defeat Source Fucking up

Right well basically when i launch Counter strike or day of defeat
it loads up then the screen goes brown but when i move the mouse i can hear the sound of

find server ect.

I was wondering is it just mine

i rebooted my computer and tried again.
I realized i couldn't use my mouse at all to even make it go into full screen mode to
so if i get the same thing.

I have no idea what to do lol....

I installed Direct x 9.0 c thats it
