Do waht i did Sparks, get an ALIENWARE and pay for it monthly mines 2k all in all and its a MONSTER

Or spend 1k and get the same machine without the stupid alien case.

Or spend less than 1k and get a machine which will run CSS fine also

Give us the full spec and I will build a PC for less.

I built my parents a PC for £400 and it would play CSS at 1920x1200 with medium/high settings.

The graphic card alone was 400euro at the time.


Ive built it myself before i bought it and there was a 100euro difference. Total cost with keyboard and mouse was 1700 but payin for it over 2 years its 2K. If i had 1700 to fork out straight up i woulda built my own, but i didnt and wanted one RIGHT NOW so got an Alienware and i fuckin LOVE it

Same spec minus the tacky case and using a much better coolermaster case and a better graphics card and 24GB RAM. Replaced the Alienware KB/mouse with Razer (most likely more expensive).

Most of the parts in that haven't been superceded yet (processor, motherboard etc) so that doesn't fly.

So saving isn't as much as I originally thought, even so, you would of got a better water cooling system out of it and a better choice of KB/mouse and case.

Pretty savage machine nonetheless. Need to get a SSD in there and it would be nearly perfect.

keep meaning to buy one. Need to buy another 1tb for storage will buy one when im gettin that. And the TacX keyboard and mouse are awesome man.

UPDATE: RAM WAS BOLLOXED... so much for memtest+86 giving 13 passes and no errors.. usless fucking thing. anyway got 4gb ram now instead of the knackered 2gb... shop said they couldnt even get windows to install whith the bolloxed sticks... all fixed now and flying

Memtest isn't flawless. I have had Memtest give a pass but turned out the RAM wasn't compatiable with the motherboard.

well i say all is flying..apart from 2 things.. on boot up im getting the black screen with option of what OS i want to boot up with ??.. both say win 7 ??

and also the 1TB hard drive i formated and it has nothing on..at all..has 70gb missing WTF thats not a mistake..70 gb missing ?????
