been looking at what ram is ok..says 8gb per slot 32gb max 8O http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listpar ... D3&Cat=RAM

think ill build one as brad is all fired up with the idea as well...plus hes using his card to get it..seeing as im insolvent 8)

now if the devil spawn have this one.... can i use windows on both rigs ?? or are the nazis at microsoft still bad for that sort of shit ??

Activation may fail and it will come up asking you to activate over the phone, give them a call and say that you have changed your motherboard and now Windows won't activate and they will give you a code to enter.

yeah i had that with xp. thing is im hoping because im using the home network thing it will be ok... like you say ill ring them if it wont let me... looks like im ordering the stuff later this week. :D

The 8800 probably just needs some gold leaf on one of the connectors or something stupid like that.

the devil spawn will have this rig with its card in it im afraid.... but skell is right about the gold leaf.. wifey fixed my old 7950 card like this... got to have a stead hand and a sheet of gold leaf...from hobby craft of something like that... it fixed it a treat :)

Given the weight of the card with the cooler and the amount of damage the courier managed to do, I would imagine the card probably moved about quite a bit and some of the gold leaf may have come off, alternatively something else may be wrong with it.

Could try sending it up to sparks, his missus could make a living off fixing old graphics cards. :lol:
