slow boot up

Post by sparksy »

well im still having problems with this new rig. win 7 takes up tp 2 nins to boot up :?
the HD is in SATA port 1
i have quick boot enabled in bios
master HD i sthe correct one selected
boot device priority is HD
all 4 cores enabled
64 bit system selected
extreme memory =profile 1
no raid thingy
performance inhance turbo

everything else seems ok in it. ive been on forums on how to tweak the bios for the GA-Z68AP-D3 BUT TO NO AVAIL

im wondering if it is actually the HD or win 7 install. it did keep all the old files in windows old folders... and it is saying no internet access ? but here i am.. online

ive de-fraged using a program that gives you the option to put system files at the start of the HD.

lost now.. :( any ideas

Did you just move over the harddrive from the old computer or is it a fresh Win 7 install?

I found XP upgrade to Vista with keeping files was pretty slow on boot up too but a fresh Vista install on the same PC was pretty quick. Only problem was installing everything again which was a pain.

Best thing to do is to install Windows and all the updates and programs you use to one disc then all your personal files to another.

Then create an image your Windows one when you are happy with it, then if it does fuck up, all you need to do is restore the image.
