I have gone from an Audi A4 to.... you guessed it, a Ford Fiesta! I blame those global warming police
It's a mark 6 (facelift) 1.6 TDCi Zetec S and the colour red. I have to say its awesome. The previous owner (my uncle) had it remapped from 89bhp to ~134bhp and the torque is summit stupid like 200ft/lb @ 3000rpm. Great little fun car and cheap as fuck. Average around 55mpg on an 8mile work commute. A full tank is about £55 with a range of over 400 miles. Road tax is £30 per year and the insurance is £110 less than I paid on the audi. Obviously they don't know about the remap and lowered springs (when I say lowered, the springs that are an option at new were fitted at a later date so it isn't a bad taste "pimping" that has gone on) and they won't do either.
So yeah, its not Ford Focus RS that's for sure, but its such a funky, quick AND CHEAP car. I'll try and post some pics.

That is quite a bit of torque out of that engine though. Had a petrol version as a courtesy car while my car was getting some mods done and remapped, think it must have been a 1.2 or a 1.4. Had no grunt at all. Good thing was the difference when getting back in my car was huge.
Fairly sure the 0-60 in my car is about the same as 0-30 in that Fiesta. But the interior was very nice, can't fault it there and it does look nice.
This isn't the newest fiesta, it's a 55 plate (actually an 06 model) so its the chunkier looking one not the new sleek looking thing. It's isn't that quick really, but it is pretty pokey once your on the move. Sitting at 50mph in 5th gear you dont even need to change down. Granted the 0-60 is probably not many seconds better than the standard, which I think is 11s but I have better things to do now. Like see how high I can get y average mpg lol. Top speed I don't think will be much more than 100 either. I mostly commute and A road anyway which it's good for and when I do distance travel I don't want to go above 80 anyway.
If it wasn't for the fact I'm already in bed I'd post the dino figures. When I get round to it I'll put the figures on here for you with a couple of pics. Needs cleaning already though, damn Leicestershire countryside lol!

Fords are, in my opinion, without any doubt, some of the best cars on the market these days. Besides, you can't say anything after the car you picked me up in 3 years ago (was it that long, maybe 2 1/2!)

Given the choice I would go with one of the Jap cars, but they don't make sports hatchbacks. The VW group (VW, Skoda, Seat etc) are all too expensive for what you get and I have found inside of Audi's pretty cheap. And I can't really afford a fast BMW, so it leaves Vauxhall and Ford.
Ford Focus > Vauxhall Astra
Ford Fiesta > Vauxhall Corsa

I looked at a Grande Punto Sporting 1.9TD MultiJet but they aren't that cheap on road tax, the fuel economy is worse and the steering is meant to be a bit shabby due to being electric. Plus my mate has one and said the turning circle is shocking.
The Alfa Mito's are nice, but they're still out of my price range and the choice of engines I didn't think are that great.
