Wouldnt deter me at all from playing the game though. I really liked XII despite all its flaws

There was once a time when "Final Fantasy" meant greatness, when seeing Square's brand on a game box meant you were about to play something special. That time has long since passed.

Couldn't agree with that more.

Someone who I know picked it up from Tesco earlier and said the graphics are shit.

The adverts didn't look great.

IX. Not to say the others were bad but I thought X was really poor and didn't really like XII neither, XIII was a bit of an improvement for me.

But the early games were the best.

X was absolutely amazing and was number 1 on Famitsus top100 games of all time...

Then Famitsus are a bunch of cunts. Everyone I know who says that X was a great game never played any of 1-6 and never completed 7, 8 or 9 (in most cases played them after X).

Everyone that knows games knows that the original Deus Ex was the best game of all time. Half-Life is second, System Shock 2 third. I never did get to play SS2 properly, I might try and get it... After I've played Deus Ex again!
