Reservoir Dogs

Post by skeletor »

Watched it last night for the first time while doing my ironing and I don't get the fascination with it.

Story was simple although the way it was put across was reasonably good, acting was alright from most of them but some were really poor.

Why does it get such great reviews?

i think because it was semi improvised and tarentinos fist real film so to speak... it is more like a stage play i think in parts.... pulp fiction was way better i think.

Still have Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown to watch.

I've seen bits of all three of them before but not all the way through.

The Shawshank Redemption is the best film of all time. No arguments.

pulp fiction is brilliant... and a much bigger budget than resevoir dogs ..jackie brown was a bit of a let down i thought. true romance is worth a watch he wrote it or something... but pulp fiction is the one..

Funny. Same for me. I've watched it last weekend. Well I wass gonna, after an hour I stopped it. Thought it was very boring. It is known as one of the greatest movies ever, but I didn't get it.

You have to watch it all the way through.

True Romance is funny and has action. Plus of you've never seen it, keep an eye out for Gary Oldman. I had no idea he was in it!

Jackie Brown was quite good. You just know how these films are gonnago though.

All Tarantino's films are similar in how they play out. Pulp, jackie B, kill bill and even inglorious basterds. You have an idea of what you're gonna see.

Reservoir Dogs is about the only one I haven't seen.

Inglorious Basterds was alright but I think that was overly praised by people purely due to Tarantino. Kill Bill was a meh film too.

Death Proof and Grindhouse were alright if a bit weird.

the thing behind it all is tarrantino is a massive movie buff who used to work in a video store years ago.. pulp fiction and kill bill really are all snippitts from older films and re- done with a more modern twist..... kill bill was basically done because he was a big kung-fu (the series) fan..hence the david carradine thing in it. he always had his fave actors in his earlyer films also..harvey cartel.. john travolta (re- launched his career) obviously he just likes ulma thurman..

but anyway.. pulp fiction... was the title because is really a mash of older films he picked the best bits from and made a new story out of it ..
