Has anyone seen the advert for this? and is anyone giving it a go?
I've signed up for it and yes it's a football game... a football manager game which is all web based so not massive downloads
and you can log on and play anywhere which is pretty cool.

Re: Goal United
Never heard of it, although I had considered making a game like this a couple of years ago but couldn't be bothered due to the huge amount of work that it would take.
It's basically going to be Farmville for football fans. Although by the looks of it the revenue is going to be based off adverts.
I was going to have real money being put in to build up facilities like Farmville etc has. Then you give out prizes sponsored by companies.
££££££ if you get it right.

Re: Goal United
It's nothing like farmville that I can see no annoying requests and shit filling your page
but you can send friendly matches but only if you want and they have like training cards and shit
a bit like FUT (Fifa Ultimate Team)

Re: Goal United
When I said Farmville, I meant in the sense of huge amounts of people playing a web game with real money being exchanged for in game bonuses.
The management side of it is reasonably easy if you keep it simple.
Increase the size of your stadium > More fans > More money
Ticket prices too high > Less fans > Less money
Players can be generated (it used to be an option in the older Championship Manager/Football Manager games, not sure if it is still there) with random stats (makes the game a lot harder, you can't buy based on name, you have to do actual research and sort out your scouts.)
The tough part is the algorithm on how the game is played out. As we know, just because you have the better players doesn't mean you are going to win every game.

Looks like a waste of time unless you're the creator of the thing.
