This does make it sound like a good game without actually talking about the game in much detail.

Yeah I heard. I tried playing this other day. According to the score list I died twice before spawning and it wouldn't load.

The day/night cycle is based on where you are. So whenever I have played it has been pitch black in game (unless you go to US server).

You can no torch or anything with you so you are pretty much fucked. I explored for around 20 mins and successfully hid from a few zombies but didn't find any sort of weapons or tools that I could use. I think you are also supposed to be able to get food etc which you need to eat if you manage to survive for more than 20 mins.

I got annoyed with it and it is supposed to be rather buggy. I think I'm gonna have to play Arma itself to get my £15's worth. Even more annoying now that before DayZ became so popular the whole franchise could be bought for £10 last sale! I'll give it another go, perhaps I just got unlucky with a bug.

There are some other mods in that "mod launcher" that you use to open DayZ, so I might try some of them out.
