cs global offensive
Re: cs global offensive
Haven't opened up vent for ages. Most games have been co-op so use in-game voice.

Re: cs global offensive
Have to say I'm not a huge fan of CS:GO yet. With only a week or do before release as well I don't see much changing either. I just don't hve a good feel for the weapons, they feel floaty and no weightless. And can hardly tell if you've actually hit anyone. I could really do with sorting my mouse out so I'm more comfortable with it though. Might plug the old diamondback back in and try it with that. Don't seem to get on with deathadder.

It is pretty different to CSS. I think it might take a fair few CSS players away but I imagine the CS1.6 players will stick with 1.6.
I know what you mean about damage, I don't know what is different but it seems on occasion to take a lot more to take someone down. Headshots aren't as obvious in the HUD either.

Re: cs global offensive
I agree with the damage. It's harder to take down an enemy probably due to the crosshairs. A long distance headshot is still possible but harder.
Most amazing thing is the way some of the maps look. I didn't think that was possible with this engine. I spent quite some time on it now and I'm pretty much convinced.

Re: cs global offensive
It really reminds me of an old Quake 3 mod that was released around the CS 1.0 era. Back when Tactical Ops was released for UT (which was awesome by the way). I just can't remember what it was called.

Can't play until rig is set up again..... Boner did say he was a little disappointed in the graphics... Not up to bf3 sort of standard...the models sort of float about like...

I don't expect it to look like BF3/Crysis. It is on the Source engine and it has been made to work on as many platforms as possible including the PS3 and Xbox 360.
To be honest I quite like it, it can be frustrating at times but being able to take control of the bots solves a lot of boredom when you die early. Once dedicated servers are up and working with Mani (or another admin plugin) then I think it will be a great game. Especially as I seem to own at the new gun game where you get a new weapon straight away (Arms race?)

Re: cs global offensive
I was playing for a bit with Rev yesterday and I experienced for the first time what he was on about with the weapons. We were playing Nuke (shit on CSS and still shit on CS:GO) and I couldn't hit anything. Close encounter with an M4 didn't do much damage. Hitboxes are probably still not very good as well because it's the same engine.
But all moaning aside, I think it's a worthy replacement for the good old CSS.
