Wireless option

Post by sparksy »

Got to move the rig to other side of the room as devil spawn have broke the pc desk... It's doors..it's keyboard shelf..the floor under the chair.... The chair itself....the wall near it...ect. So I have decorated and put a new floor in today... But the virgin speedy hub cable is not gonna go around the room. What shall I do...get a wireless recover in the rig or try to extend the cable ?...

Getting a longer cable is the best option (not an extension) and cheapest although maybe not the most convenient.

As for wireless, can get an internal PCI card if you have a slot spare or a USB one. I have a PCI card with an external antenna but it didn't really work too well (always had a low signal). I also have a wireless USB dongle and that was never great but good for when I had laptops to fix, easy to install and get updates etc installed on them.

I've used pci wireless and it's shit. Get a longer cable from the router/hub if you can.
