Set up a dedicated server and it works...when connecting through LAN. I added some bots and played a couple of rounds without any problems.
If you try to connect though the big bad internet, it won't load. :?

Found some information about this on the internet, but haven't found a solution for the problem yet.

Lastest news from the Mani Admin website:
The windows build is almost ready for beta. This has been a huge change over the orange box version, and many things were needed to be redone. I hope to have a beta out soon.

No actual ETA though?

I have gone ahead and paid for a 20-man CS:GO server. I set it to pay 6 months in advance (10% discount over paying monthly) and put $60 myself in to cover the shortfall in the account.

Doesn't come with Vent, so I'll set that up on my own private server so it'll cost us nothing extra.

Invoice has just been paid to cover next month for CSS server although invoice date says that covers 1 Sep to 1 Oct so hopefully if they close it now, we can get the $24.95 back for that month which can be used in 6 months time.

So that is $107.73 every 6 months. Saved around $70 over monthly payment option.

Server IP is 173.199.75.97:27015

I have installed SourceMod for the time being until Mani is available.

All the normal people have admin for it, no idea how it works though. See here for instructions - http://wiki.alliedmods.net/Admin_Commands_(SourceMod)

Liq you should have access through Gameservers to make any changes and FTP details to upload poolparty.

I'm at work at the moment, so I haven't tried it out to make sure everything is working.

I should be on from 7:00-7:30 or so tonight until about 9-9:30.

What changed your mind Skel?

I've just installed MetaMod as well, we are going to need that anyway.

I should be on around the same time.

Well no-ones going to be playing CSS now are they despite the annoyances of CS:GO.

And Mani is going to come along sooner or later, might as well get to grips with server customisation.

All true.

I'm currenly looking into the game modes. I think the server should run the "casual" gamemode. There is some config to do to be able to play custom maps.

I think you need to do somethings to pool_party in Hammer before we should add it to the server.

It has no loading screen etc which should be fixed rather than just showing a blank screen, looks like the server has crashed.

Casual will be my preferred option, can FF be turned on and off with admin?

Edit: Gameservers have set the CSS server to be cancelled tomorrow and the $24.95 has been added to our account as credit. :D

Custom maps don't have a loading screen. As far as I know it's not possible to create a custom one.

Friendly can be turned on/off with

Code: Select all

mp_friendlyfire
This is a list with all possible CONVARs: http://covertsector.com/wp-content/uplo ... _04_20.pdf

Good news! I just saw it was set to 1 October at first

mp_friendlyfire will require a map change at the minimum, maybe a server restart.

I'm sure you can do loading screen for custom maps. When you load the map up via console, there are various messages saying that you need to change certain things before releasing a production version.

You probably mean the "missing string table dictionary". Have looked into that, but couldn't find anything about it yet. Will take a look tonight.
