Well have to many problems with windows i have decided to move onto linux.
I have no idea if counter strike will work it more or less should do as i have got steam running
so hopefully see you all seen woot

I love linux.

I am on Ubuntu too. Had been dual booting with XP for ages but hadn't used Ubuntu since I got my new hardware.

Creative don't even have a sound driver for Linux, so I will have to move the speakers around to onboard to use Linux.
Nvidia's drivers for the 8800GTS are shite, I have to reinstall the drivers every reboot.

Except for that it is great


Now time to try and get CSS working.

UT2K4 works perfectly over 400fps on max settings

CSS and HL2 both load but with corrupt graphics. The sound was bad too but I changed Wine emulation to Alsa rather than OSS.

Let me know if you get it working, I don't think it is a driver issue as UT2K4 works.

I lag alot more in linux and the controls feel weird lol i prefer playing in windows
