bloody hd failed thisn week,,,got to try and get 500gb of data of it now with recovery software later in the week.. and i had to go tp pc world for a new one.. ker-ching :evil: 2TB was the smallest as well...

Everything important I have is backed up online. If TV/music goes, I don't really care.

bought a caddy... and used mini tool data recovery program... got all i needed back :D i was amazed at all the delited files that were showing up as well... i know your meant to destoy HD if you ditch them but i never really knew how much was still on them..

Yeah quite a lot.

It's when you delete files and carry on using the hard drive when it becomes harder to recover files.

another HD failed this week, nothing to impotant on it but still anoying :evil: looking at stats it would seem Hitachi seem to come out on top but quite pricey

Saw that a while ago. Used to always go Seagate but then WD started being the cheaper option so went with them. Haven't had any failures for quite a while.

yeah ive opted for the WD as replacment... hitachi dont seem widely available as well..
