I am surprised you scored that high to be honest. Your CPU really helped you out there. My CPU is holding me back.
During the next price drop in July, I will get a new CPU.
And I will try to take off the IHS off this one to see if I can bring temps right down and overclock it even more. Will be a good experiment.
I can't imagine those IHS's being very good for heat dissipation.

Re: Stress Test Scores
my cpu is running @ 3.2 ghz E6600 @1.32v still thinking of trying the x6800 oced to like 3.8 which is what i had out of it before(still on stock @ 1.32volt)and memory is overclocked pretty well too, its at 908mhz @4-5-4 15
if i dropped it down to the norm im sure id get a big fps drop.

You will. Source is CPU dependant.

Re: Stress Test Scores
posting my screenies i did tuther day. inint fo sho mofo
Think this proves cpu bottleneck, with over a 100mhz gpu core increase and memory speed tweaks im only getting 7fps increase
Still not tried the tests properly in xp, i never boot to it now.

Re: Stress Test Scores
Yeah def the CPU. I was going to get the E6600, but I may get a quad if it is cheap enough.
Re: Stress Test Scores

Erm dont listen to him!
Use riva tuner instead, if you use ati tool it creates a utility driver in system devices and its difficult to remove, riva tuner dynamicly overclocks the memory on the gpu by altering the timing ati tool does not do this so you cant get a decent memory overclock out of it, overall i get a much better (and stable) overclock out of this programme, it is a bit more difficult to use though, it also works with vista!

In the second half of 2007, Intel will begin production of the next generation Intel® Core™2 processor family codenamed "Penryn." The Penryn processor family is based on our industry-leading 45-nanometer (nm) Hi-k metal gate silicon technology and our latest microarchitecture enhancements. This next evolution in Intel® Core™ microarchitecture builds on the tremendous success of this revolutionary microarchitecture (currently used in both the Intel® Xeon® and Intel Core 2 processor families) and marks the next step in Intel's rapid cadence for delivering a new process technology with enhanced microarchitecture or an entirely new microarchitecture every year.
The cpu you have atm is fine for what you use it for im guessing, i would wait for a while yet.
We got new amd cpu's coming later this year too, and when intel go to Nehalem32nm silicon early next yr im sure you will be able to pick up a much more powerfull Penryn processor for a much cheaper price then.
Although our boards might not work on 45nm and we also will probly needing new ddr3 memory. Never ending story ! you cant win!.... Follow the yellow brick road mofo sure!
Re: Stress Test Scores
It will work on some motherboards I believe after a BIOS upgrade.
ATi Tool is fine. I use Nibitor myself and flash an overclocked BIOS straight on to my card so I don't have to muck around with software. Nibitor is only for Nvidia cards though.

Re: Stress Test Scores
Like i said though you cant overclock your memory on ati cards very well, try it if you dont belive me. I have used ati tool on my last three ati cards and non of them got me an overclocked memory. Just crashes the card!
Riva Tuner works much better. Trust.
