Re: Help please!
You have a lot of stuff running in the background, nothing bad though.
Does HL2 run? Is it just CSS that crashes?

Re: Help please!
I know Blackblaze, but I wasn't playing when I made the scan. I don't have anything running in the background while playing.
Yes Skeletor, HL2 is running fine.
I updated video-card, because the steam-crash test gave that as a possible thread, but it didn't help. I'm getting really desperate right now...

Re: Help please!
If HL2 runs ok. Open Steam and go to the Games tab.
Right click CSS and press Properties, then click Check File Intergrity (or something like that).
If that doesn't work.
Right click Counter Strike Source and click Delete Local Content.
Then when its deleted. Right click it again and press Install. It will take a while but it will make sure all the game files are ok.

Yes I know my computer is not that good Sparksy. But it's just so odd. It worked for 3/4 year and now suddently it doesn't. I tried all the things they listed on the steam help site. Nothing seems to work...
I updated my video card, deleted a lot of old games for more space, deleted 3th party video displayers, updated windows, checked whole windows, did a full system scan for a virus, trojan horse or anything else, updated directX, did the steam crash test, deleted and reinstalled counter-strike twice, backed-up game files......
Nothing worked!
I'm out of ideas...

Re: Help please!
reinstall windows? or is that not an option?
Re: Help please!
My father told me already that if I want the pc to work all fine again we have to completely format the computer.
But that is a big step. I don't use this computer alone, it's our only 'public' computer here at home. My sister, brother, mother and father us it as well...
Btw: Checking File Intergrity didn't help.

Re: Help please!
Well it is a good idea to reinstall Windows now and again, you will notice it is actually faster once you reinstall Windows.
I assume you have a Dell judging by the Hijackthis log?
If so, it will probably wipe the data when you reinstall Windows, so you would have to get an external harddrive, put all your data on that then reinstall Windows.
I think that is going to be the only way to get it to work again. There must be some sort of problem within Windows itself that is causing CSS to crash all the time.
The only other thing you can try is to go to C:\Windows\Temp and delete everything in there.
Press Start » Run, type in %temp% then delete everything in that folder.
Then go to C:\Windows\Prefetch. Delete all of that.
Reboot and hope for the best.
