Right, I'm currently at my parents so everything is a bit makeshift at as i knicked my brothers room for the desk.

Pentium 4 1.7Ghz (single core)
1.2 GB RD RAM (thats right, the type DDR blew out the water )
250GB HDD runs Win XP
40GB HDD runs ubuntu
ATi Radeon 9600 256MB DDR ( can run top graphics no different from lower graphics)
1x DVDRW 1x DVD

yes the fan is necessary or my pc grinds to a halt, no its not overclocked.

it predates USB 2.0 so i have a USB 2.0 card slotted in aswell as 5.1 sound card cos usually i got those speakers in, but i cant play games in 5.1 cos it uses the cpu to co ordinate sound which i cant afford to spare.

I average out about 15 frames per second.

Upgrade is out of the question lol, the motherboard is practically antique now, so the bus speed etc is very low.

Bingo and I are going to build me one at the end of summer if i am ever so slightly less skint

But, it still does well so I'll probably keep the old girl to do something

Just install Linux on it and use it for pr0n. No one else will probably know what to do. "Argh it's not Windows, RUN AWAY!!!"

Get a job. £700 for a good base unit, keep your old mouse, keyboard and monitor.

Hah yeah, it's a damn fine PC.. If you live in 1999.

My old PC was a lot like that, awful soundcard though and a GeForce3 (64MB FTW!), only 768MB RDRAM though, but a 1.8Ghz Pentium 4. Plus the HDD is fucked, keeps freezing for 30ish seconds randomly when I access folders, it won't defrag because it can't handle it ^^ USB 2 card just the same... Ol' skool PCs ftw

Love my new one though, me and Meph built it last week <3 I'll spec you one for the end of the summer tonight Meph, you decided if you want ATi or nVidia yet? Need you to pick out a C2D and decide if you want a P35 mobo for a few years from now when Qcore comes in big style.
