p35 should be cheaper than p956 on release. Although I am not sure whether that is the DDR2 boards or the DDR3 boards. You probably will have to pay more for DDR3.

pone?... is that meant to be poon?
it cant be phone cause u aint got my number...

nice cult rig u got there!

price drop's around end of july.. so i hear...
3GHz for $266 on the 22nd

QX6850 quad core extreme at 3 GHz and FSB 1333 will cost a saucy $999. E6850 dual core with 4 MB cache, FSB 1333 and the same 3 GHz clock will cost $266 or almost four times less. Dasd

E6750 dual core with 4 MB cache, FSB 1333 and 2.66 GHz clock will cost only $183 while E6550 dual core with 4 MB cache, FSB 1333 and 2.40 GHz clock will be introduced at at $163. The E6540 has the same specification and will cost the same, but it won't have Intel TXT. TXT in this case stands for Trusted Execution Technology.

According to Intel's website "Intel Trusted Execution Technology provides hardware-based mechanisms that help protect against software-based attacks and protects the confidentiality and integrity of data stored or created on the client PC. "

It is suppose to help you be safer in this nasty world. This prices will be effective on the 22nd of July unless Intel decides to launch these CPU's earlier

Intel will wait till 22nd. It gives them to time to have the chips ready and out to the retailers, and as AMD have nothing in the coming months they have to reason to move it earlier.

I was considering getting a Q6600, but I think I will wait till Crysis etc is out before I get new CPU.

And don't forget those prices are the wholesale prices that retailers will buy them at in bulks of around 1000. We will get savings over current prices but not as much.

Yeah, price drops ftw.

If you get a P35 board ready for QCore, don't even think about QCore processor yet. We're not even using DCores properly yet, never mind Q, and I know what you use your PC for so there ain't no point, it's not like you're rendering or anything!

P35s aren't that much more expensive to be honest, and you can get DDR2 ones. DDR3 is a bit expensive at the moment tbh. With your budget I'm not convinced of the need for a P35 board, P965 will do fine for now, and it's gonna be a long time before you can properly utilise QCore anyway.

nVidia ftw, gimmie a price and I'll find something. 8800's are like £170+, unless you want serious power I'd wait for them to come down a bit and just get a decent 7 series.
