Anyone know anything about phone lines?

Anyone know anything about phone lines?

I have removed the 1,3,4 and 6 wires from all the wall sockets. Which has helped slightly increase my sync rate.

When the phone line enters the house it goes in to this thing. ^^

Then it goes on to the master socket which has the ring capacitor.

I am sure this isn't helping anything, considering it looks like shit and is extremely old, as old as the house infact. I take it I can't remove it because of BT ruling etc.

Christ!!!! thats an old connection block, using only connections 2 and 5 will be fine.... a new socket with fresh copper init might also help...lol

Yeah, the black thing is the BT phone line, A and B, which are supposed to link up to 2 and 5.

I am not sure on BTs rules regarding this as all the sites I have looked at don't talk about lines this old :?

All the hardwired extensions only have 2 and 5 on. Although there is one extension which isn't hardwired, so I don't know if I can pull that apart and take out all the wires except 2 and 5.
