One problem with CS:S

Post by Crenshaw »

I have one problem with CS: S. I can't play De_Dust properly. I think De_Nuke is somewhat the same thing, haven't played that map for ages though. For some reason, whenever I play DD1, I have really big lag problems. Not as in high ping or low FPS, but the lighting makes my mouse respond bad (like without smooth mouse or whatever). Also the lighting slowly shifts as I move around. It might be my GFX card that bugs up or just sucks or something, but I find it strange seeing DD2 runs perfectly along with most other maps aswell. I do have a shit laptop and it might be that laptops don't handle shades well or something. I do run everything at "low" for the best performance my computer can offer me, and DD1 still fucks up. I want to play DD1 too:<

Any ideas?

Mine runs fine, but there does seem to be a major differnce in glare and lighting in Dust one compared to other maps and Ive heard of though not experienced this problem before.

Yeah, I hadn't experienced this myself until I got my laptop and I've never really cared seeing I normally don't play DD1, but it is in the aop rotation/voting and I hate taking 30 min breaks from gaming CSS when I've started:) Also, I think my GFX driver is updated and directx should be updated aswell. I have no idea whether this has anything to do with it though

Go in to Options > Graphics > Advanced Options.

Set HDR to none.

Both D1 and Nuke both have HDR lighting.
