I was reading up on how to recover it, but looks like you can't. They recommend backing up the save file each time just in case.

Have a save file with 10 in the Calm Lands. Think il pick that one up from there. Of all Final Fantasys thats the one i finished the least

I think I hadn't a second playthrough of X saved somewhere but I don't know where that memory card is, probably lost in a box from when I moved house.

I should really play 13-2 but its purely for nostalga reasons i wanna play 10 again
