The width is there if the team is willing to work... the 2 CM'S would be Wingers for me Lennon and Walcott
with Walker and Johnson over-lapping getting the ball into the box. Don't want to sound like a twat but that's exactly why it didn't work
because Sven is a terrible tactician.

I think Gerrard fits a CAM especially as a so called playmaker... aslong as he doesn't hit the ball for 40 yards out.... He's just not that good anymore. After we qualified I don't think he gave
a shit.

Maybe "Attacking CB" sounds strange but what I'm getting at is he could push up the pitch without using too much energy and obviously dart into the box for
corner's / loose balls and wasn't Dion Dublin a terrible striker?

Dion Dublin was never "terrible", he wasn't a world beater either though. The reason I referenced him is because he often played centre back throughout his career at Cov, Norwich, Villa and Leicester.

Playing Walcott and Lennon in CM? And you call Sven a terrible tactician :P

And Gerrard not giving a shit? I don't know which championship you were watching but I was watching Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine, Gerrard was one of England's best performers. In fact many were saying he was one of the best players all around in the group stages after his assists, work rate and passing. One of the biggest mistakes of English football was shoe horning in too many midfielders. Gerrard often got pushed on to the left wing and wasted. He should have been who the team was built around. Not a twat like Rooney. Who care's if Lampard and Gerrard can play together, the simple answer would have been to not bother trying, failing and persisting for so long. Spain can't play everyone, they have Fabregas and Torres etc on the bench. If we had two world class goalies would we put on at left back? No. So why was midfield any different. Now we're trying to build a team around Captain Gerrard and fat twat Rooney and poor old Stevie G is nearly done in.

Without sounding horrible, Sven and Cappello needed some injuries to help them make decisions and that unfortunately never happened. McClaren was just a dick who at the time tried to make himself look the big man by dropping Beckham which then blew up in his face. Waste of the last couple of years of a good players international career. Gone off on a tangent there but Becks could easily have helped us qualify for Euro 2008, even if he didn't play in it.

Oh fair play I actually didn't know that thought he was just an out and out striker... although I can see why
he would get played at the back. I don't see the problem with that obviously the holding and attacking midfielders (Parker/Gerrard/Wilshire)
would run back to support the wingers... I'd love to see it tried out think it would be better than you think.

I said after we qualified I didn't see much from him or anybody for that matter.. Milner,Young and Parker all played far worse I won't deny the fact but you can't say that the squad wasn't built around Gerrard how do you think so many Livepool players made it into the squad? I won't deny the fact but there was no hope from the moment I saw the squad before the qualifiers but we had too many key players injured or simply not picked because Roy is a fucking biased liverpool fan.

I agree with what you said about Sven/Capello and Mclaren dropping Becks regardless of how much of a "Hollywood Cunt" He's turned into... shocked he even considers himself English.

You'd turn into a Hollywood Cunt if you could.

I'd happily be Rich, shag Vicky Beckham (and severaly others) and go and watch a couple of basketball games just to keep the advertisementsrolling in. Plus I actually don't mind basketball, I use to play it

If the team was built around Gerrard we wouldn't have had Parker playing. But oh well.

Also, I wish I'd stuck a tennor on Italy at the start of the tournament, I said I fancied them to do well and it would have softened the blow of England going out as well
Hindsight is great isn't it...

Apparently someone put £100 on Balloteli to score twice last night at William Hill and won £10,000.

I wouldn't mind the cash but I'd never settle down in yank town my destination would be Amsterdam :P
Becks could do a million times better than Victoria.. honestly don't see the attraction?
How can you honestly say it wasn't  Carroll,Johnson,Downing,Kelly and Gerrard himself all liverpool and only one of them along with Gerrard should
have been there.

Italy absolutely shocked me I was expecting them to get dicked 4 - 1 or something stupid... Could honestly seeing them
do Spain over too. Wish I made that bet skel I'd be laughing all the way to the bank.

Doesn't mean shit when you're as good as they are. They panicked against Portugal at the end and I think they realised they might be going out. That is why they seemed to suddenly start playing in second half of extra time. That could be the kick up the balls they needed after risking it all in a shootout against Portugal.
