ok im stumped on this one here.
bought a tevion ( aldi ) potable dvd player with sd card reader and usb port in it...............
i tried my old memorex flash stick.. 1gb and it played all the pics and avi files fine...
so off i trotted to pc world (pff shit hole) asked the bloke if the 16gb emtec stick was ok for ok to lash avi onto..yeah np he said...
so i downloaded about 10 films for the kids onto it...works fine in the pc.. ( even in the slower usb on the keyboard...
but will it fuck work on the dvd player... rang them up and some bloke says not all usb sticks are for dvd players.. just pc...
sp which one do i go for then ?? stumped on this one,, i thought they would all be the same tbh....

Re: usb flash memory
All USB will work across all the different players, but some players may have a limit on how much they can read.
My phone for example can take microSD card, but it can only handle up to 512MB, anything over that and it doesn't recognise it.
Read through DVD player stuff and see if there is a limit to the size of the USB stick.

Re: usb flash memory
Could well be because it is FAT not FAT32, but all my USB sticks are FAT32 (512MB, 1GB + 2GB).
Re: usb flash memory

It's possible different brands will work, although they should really all work.

Re: usb flash memory
It would certainly be appropriate to say, that when purchasing flash memory, generally above 4-8GB you would defnately be wanting to buy something of a high quality/brand, because i would image buying in those types of sizes
would mean you are backing up, or storing data which is large and readily accessed. Usually it's better to have a main source, and sync with that regularly from smaller pen drives.. They are SHIT for backing up anything, trust them only for temporary periods, i experienced difficulties on windows platforms with drives over 16 GB not remaining reliable. Flash memory getting into those sizes under performs, plus handling data into the size on the fly isnt so efficient with the 2.0 bus. bring on 3.0, apparently the standard is confirmed, well see eh?
