Spoiling a good walk

Post by Revolver »

Well, today (this afternoon more precisely) for the first time ever I am going to play GOLF!

No idea why because I have never ever played before and don't really care to but my mates talked me into it and I thought why not.

So who has swung a big club to hit a puny little ball a long way down some grass?

Any tips?

And "don't go" or "don't bother" do not count as a tip :P

Funny you should mention this. One of my mates mentioned going down a driving range at some point for a bit of fun, but has yet to be arranged.

I did a 9-hole course in the Isle of Wight when I was 10-11, but it was a proper course so we were pretty much something like 15-20+ every hole.

Before you go, make sure you watch Happy Gilmour. I am pretty sure it is as realistic as it gets.

I went down the range with one of the lads from work a few weeks ago and was hitting 220yds with a 3 wood, which apparently isnt bad for a 1st attempt :) my biggest recommendation would be to wear a glove - fuck me I had some big skin flappers on my thumb after hitting 150 balls down range :D
